PostHeaderIcon Do all blushers eventually develop Rosacea?

I dont properly understand the causes of Rosacea…. Going red from Social Embarrassment all the time, will this lead to permanant Rosacea?

From what I understand, if you already have rosacea you tend to blush easier. I think rosacea gets worse with age. Some cases are worse than others. I have a mild case and I am in my 30’s and I blush easily. I would actually call it flush instead of blush. If I laugh alot my face with flush. Also other triggers I have noticed that cause the flushing are alcohol, spicey foods, very warm bath/shower, and of course getting upset.

PostHeaderIcon My friend has bad rosacea on her nose. How can she get rid of it without going to a dermatologist?

The rosacea is on her nostrils and just around that area. She always has allergies and colds. How can she get rid of the rosacea?

Thanks,

Renee

Is she sure that it is rosacea ? just having a red-ish nose when you have a cold is not enough.

Most doctors will be able to diagnose if it is indeed rosacea - are there papules or pustules or visible broken blood vessels for eg. You do need a doctor to make sure you are on the right track to start with.

Here is some information about how to cure a red nose.

Rosacea-LTD III is one OTC possibility, as is Clinique Redness Solutions, or Eucerin Redness Relief

PostHeaderIcon Does Noredol work really well on rosacea?

I mean does it help clear rosacea really well?

Hi there,

I work for Support at Noredol. Noredol works very well for most people. It isn’t a cure, but it really does reduce redness and blemishes. If you email a request you can get a sample to try.

Cheers!

PostHeaderIcon what’s the difference between blushing very badly and rosacea?

sometimes ill blush very bad and the situation wont even be embarassing…is this rosacea? i kinda doubt it is since i dont get any pus filled things (others have said they iare common for rosacea)

You have rosacea, but apparently not so bad as to get pus-filled lesions. Sorry to say there’s little that can be done that can help that would not hurt you more than rosacea. Grin and bear and be one of us.

PostHeaderIcon Rosacea treatment need help..?

Hi there - i have had rosacea around the edges of my nose since i was about 3 or 4 so i have never known what it was like to have clear skin and im sure you know how mean kids in school can be. My mum never really looked into it for some reason so i went without treatment for years until i complained about the bullying - then i went to the doc’s for some topical cream that didn’t work so i just sort of shrugged it off and ignored it till now in high-school.. i am 16 and have chronic blackheads all over my Tzone also where my rosacea is so i can’t treat the blackheads yet because the blackhead treatment makes my rosacea flare up and spread so i need to know if i should treat the rosacea first or the blackheads first? but i don’t think rosacea ever actually goes away especially considering that mine has been there for my whole life.. maybe its just part of how i am

for the rosacea i have tried - not drinking milk or eating cheese/dairy products -prescriptionn doxycycline pills - primrose oil -chamomilee - a wide variety of different recommended vitaminin supplements - and a countless number of different creams and herbal lotions -

for the blackheads i have tried - a wide variaty of cleansing scrubs - followed by benzoyl peroxide gel 5% moved up to 10%(still using not sure if i should because of the rosacea) - biore max strengh pore strips - steaming my face - teatree oil - proactive solution

also can i get laser treatment for my rosacea even if i have blackheads?

See a dermatologist. I’m 60 and have had the same problem around my nose since I was about 11 years old. They can prescribe medication that will control the inflamation / blackheads etc. It will only get worse as you get older without getting the right medication.

PostHeaderIcon Besides prescription medication what can reduce redness caused by rosacea?

I have rosacea and i am on meds…but i still have some redness and i am looking for something that might reduce it more..any suggestions?

A high UV sun block helped my rosacea, Ambre Solaire UV Sensitive Ultra 50+ SPF, the cream added a white tinge which toned it down a little, I even used it in the winter when my condition had flared up. Wear a wide brimmed hat in the summer and avoid direct sunlight on your face. Try to avoid stress. Tell your close friends about it, they should be supportive. It looks worse to you than to any one else so try not to dwell on it. Avoiding caffene and alchohol could help too but don’t cut yourself off. When you walk down the street take a look at others you’d be surprised just how many people have red cheeks or other parts of their faces too.

PostHeaderIcon Do you apply sunscreen before or after skin care?

I heard that you should apply Sunscreen with helioplex to bare skin, then put on other skin care products. But I have been prescribed an antibiotic lotion/gel for my acne. Will my antibiotic gel penetrate the sunscreen to help my acne, or will the helioplex not work when it doesn’t touch bare skin?

Can you use the antibiotic gel at night and use sunscreen during the day? I think that would be the best option. Otherwise I would put the antibiotic on first, give it a chance to dry a bit, then put on the sunscreen.
Some antibiotics can make your skin more prone to sun damage.
If you have concerns, you could always call your doctor or dermatologist.

PostHeaderIcon Rosacea Help!?

My father has a skin condition called Rosacea, do you know any cures or medicine he could take to treat it?

HELP FAST TYSM!

There is no "cure" for rosacea. It’s progressive, chronic condition that will worsen if not treated. One of the best treatments for it is a cream called Finacea (15% azelaic acid). It requires a prescription, but it’s very effective. Sometimes, oral antibiotics help (100mg of doxycycline is effective). As an alternative to an oral antibiotic, a prescription called Nicomide can be used. Many physicians are not familiar with this medication, however, so this frequently has to be requested, but studies have demonstrated it to be equally as effective as antibiotics. If a physician prescribes MetroGel (a topical antibiotic), do not accept this — it’s not very effective; Finacea is much better. A prescription was called Plexion is also helpful for rosacea.

Treating the skin very gently can help not to aggravate the condition and will help calm the skin — if your father’s skin is dry, using an oil-free, fragrance-free moisturizer will soothe his skin some. Avoiding the sun, not consuming caffeine, and avoiding alcohol will also help to minimize "flares" of rosacea. There are no over-the-counter medications that will actually "treat" rosacea, however.

PostHeaderIcon What type of skin care products should I be using?

I just turned 27, and I want to prevent the wrinkles before they start. I’m totally clueless when it comes to skin care. What types of products should I be using and how often? Right now i just use basic face wash. I don’t need brand names, but if you have some to recommend that would be good too.

PostHeaderIcon What are some good mens skin care tips?

Hi, there is not too much information out there about mens skin care tips that are not just product reviews. I am looking for a full system or method that will help me cure my acne or at least help my skin look alot better. Thanks.

Hi there. I agree that there are too many sites that just tell you which products to buy and don’t give you quality men’s skin care tips. I highly suggest the article in my source, it is all about inside out ways to get perfect skin for men. Men can have a more difficult time with skin care because of hormonal differences, but it’s not rocket science. Check it out.
